Another new taste for Vish Vish today: brown rice + Enfalac A+ for lunch and purple sweet potato for dinner. As usuall he loves it very much...even ask for more...I have discussed about the goodness of sweet potato now lets see fact about brown rice
A grain of rice is composed of several different layers. Only the outside layer, the 'hull', is removed during the production of brown rice and very little goodness is lost by the grain in the process.
But during the production of white rice, the grains are milled to remove more layers - the bran and almost all of the germ. This process strips the grains of the majority of their nutrients.
In the final part of the process, another layer called 'aleurone' is removed and the grains are polished. But aleurone is a good source of essential fats, which play such an important role in your baby's diet.
So what are you left with?
White rice - a refined starch that offers your little one very little in the way of nutrition.
Just look at what it contains!

I quite particular in choosing anything for vish vish to eat/drink...since i did not breastfeed him I try my best to give the best food for him......I am very concern about nutrition, ingredients, side effect....etc....what i emphasize the most of course nutrition and contents.....make sure no colouring and additive......but we can't avoid preservative for the manufacture to preserve the food.....among all rusk in retail outlets I choose this........first it made from rice...easy to digest and quite tasteless (not 100% tasteless)......compare with Milna which is quite sweet i prefer this....DEAR BELOVED VISH,

SYMPTOMS OF TEETHING
The symptoms of teething vary from child to child. Because of these different experiences, parents and physicians often disagree as to the symptoms of teething and how painful it is. The list below shows symptoms that a teething baby may experience. While most parents usually agree that some or all of the symptoms below happened around the time of teething, it is still recommended that if your baby experiences any of these symptoms you check with your pediatrician to rule out other possible causes for the symptoms.
Irritability: As the sharp little tooth rises closer to the surface your baby’s gums may become increasingly more sore and painful, leading to your baby being very fussy. The pain and discomfort is most often worse during the first teeth coming in and later when the molars come in because of their bigger size. This is most often the case since babies become accustomed to the sensations of teething and learn to live with them. But you may find your baby may be fussy during the whole time that every tooth comes in. Every child reacts differently.
Drooling: From three to four months of age you may see your baby start drooling more often than normal. Teething stimulates drooling, which is often worse with some babies than others.
Coughing: The extra saliva can cause your baby to occasionally cough or gag. This is usually nothing to worry about as long as your baby seems fine and shows no signs of a cold or flu and does not run a high fever.
Chin rash: If your baby is a big drooler, the constant contact with saliva can cause the skin around the chin and mouth to become irritated. To help prevent this, gently wipe your baby’s mouth and chin periodically throughout the day.
Biting & gnawing: A baby that is teething will gnaw and gum down on anything she or he can get their mouth around. The counter pressure from biting on something helps relieve the pressure from under the gums.
Cheek rubbing and ear pulling: Pain in the gums may travel to the ears and cheeks particularly when the back molars begin coming in. This is why you may see your baby rubbing their cheeks or pulling at their ears. However, keep in mind that pulling at an ear can also be a sign of an ear infection.
Diarrhea: While this is a symptom that is disagreed upon by physicians, researchers and parents, most parents usually notice slightly looser bowel movements when a baby is teething. While the recent study done by the Children’s Hospital in Australia found this to be the most common symptom of teething, there are still many people that will agree and disagree with this recent study. It is believed that the most likely cause of this is the extra saliva swallowed, which then loosens the stool. Be sure and report any diarrhea to your doctor that lasts more than two bowel movements.
Low-grade fever: A fever is another symptom that doctors are sometimes hesitant to directly link with teething. But there are many parents who will disagree with this and find their baby gets a slight fever while teething. The best thing to do is be extra safe and notify your doctor if a fever last more than two days.
Not sleeping well: With teething pain happening during the day and night, you may find your child wakes more often at night when the pain gets bad enough. Most parents agree that the night waking happens more often during the first set of teeth and with the molars.
Cold like symptoms (runny nose, etc.): Some parents find that their baby will show signs of having a cold. Runny noses, coughing and general cold symptoms are believed to come from the baby having their hands in their mouth more often. Play it safe and always notify your doctor if symptoms such as this occur.
How can I help my baby with the pain?
There are several things that you can try to help ease the pain of teething; some work and some don’t, but most parents agree they’re always worth a try. Teething rings, water filled and chilled rubber teething toys; mom and dads fingers can all provide counter pressure that can sometimes bring relief. Offering your baby a cold bottle of water can also help. If sucking on the bottle bothers your child, offer a cold cup of water. The water can also help replenish your baby’s fluid if they’re drooling a lot or have loose bowel movements.
Cold food has also been found to be helpful by some parents. Chilled applesauce, yogurt and pureed peaches may be more appealing to your baby and also more nutritious than a chilled teething ring.
When nothing else helps, you can also turn to the Infant Tylenol. Before giving your child Infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) always check with your doctor first. Your doctor will tell you if it’s all right and what the proper amount is to give your baby. Baby Orajel and other teething pain medicines that are applied to the gums can also provide some relief. Some parents say the Baby Orajel type products work great, while other parents will say it doesn’t. Also check with your doctor before giving this type of over the counter pain reliever to your baby.
The teething process will come and go just like so many other things with new babies. Keep trying different things until you find what provides the best relief for your child.
Note: Before trying any of the suggestions listed above or any other type of home remedy it is highly recommended that you contact your pediatrician first. You should follow your pediatricians advise first before trying anything mentioned on this site or on any other site. Your child's doctor knows what is best for your child.

• Stacking today's unread newspaper on top of yesterday's unread newspaper.
• Eating dinner like we're trying to break a world record for the most pasta swallowed in the shortest amount of time. Standing up. (Really funny...but honestly this is what I did when my hubby can't comfort him if he wanna sleep)
• Letting your partner choose between poop and laundry as a topic of conversation.
• Figuring out how to pee without putting the baby down. (happen when he a bit in manja mood..if i put down sure COL...occasionally...but easy to let him down just let him play with his rattle toy which we name ping bobbing..not matter how tired and drowsy he is...he manage to kick the ball hard and grasp the object...)
• Wearing a bra that looks like something from a 1930s catalog. ( I wonder how it look like...imagine....)
• Spending three hours getting the baby to sleep and then waking her up two minutes later to make sure she's still breathing. (Real true......it need 15-20 minutes to put him to sleep even sometimes up to 30 minutes.....pat, bang, here and there only then he will fall asleep (especially in our watching and living room)...but amazingly when at shopping complex, party, office or any place that crowded he manage to sleep without much problem....another best place is mummy & daddy bedroom....switch on aircond...just lying him down....less than few minutes fall asleep..)
• Forgetting what you were...
Anyway having a baby is a million joy............I enjoy being a mother although sometimes geram yg teramat sangat rasa nak gigit if he COL....

Infants are amazing; their brains are changing at lightning speed and these positive developmental changes are enhanced through infants' interaction with their environment. During this important time, it is essential that the infant be exposed to appropriate levels of stimulation - hence the term infant stimulation. By appropriate levels of stimulation, we mean that the stimulation should not overwhelm the infant or under-engage the infant, and that the stimulation should be oriented at supporting the infant's ongoing development. Infant stimulation is especially critical for infants who are born at high risk due to biological or environmental issues, or those infants with diagnosed disabilities. Stimulation can come in many forms; one type of intervention is reading. Research has consistently supported the importance of reading to children. Reading supports both short-term developmental goals and later school performance. In fact, reading is one of the best things a parent can do for his or her child.
It is never too early to start reading; even infants who are hospitalized due to a difficult birth can benefit from reading. The following information is provided through the Baby Awareness and Support through Interactive Computer Systems (BASICS) program:
BASICS gives reading tips and here are just a few:
Reading should not stop with the infant's hospital discharge; reading is a fun activity that should be built into the family's regular routine.

DEAR MOM...PLEASE PREVENT UR LITTLE ONE FROM PNEUMOCOCCAL DISEASE
I plan to get pneumococcal jap for Travissh when he 2 months old......I did a few research such as browse through internet, discussion with other mom (Mommy Joan Clair and Mommy Christina Henry), read Mommy Stephanie Liah post under topic Pneumococcal and Rotavirus in her blog www.ryanraffael.blogspot.com........if possible it is a COMPULSORY for our baby to take this injection...prevention is better than cure rite......no matter how much it costs..expensive or cheap...but it is not an issue....yg penting our baby sihat...
Here is some of the info on pneumoccoccal disease i found on the net....
According to the World Health Organization's current estimates, one child dies of a pneumococcal disease every minute. Pneumococcal infection can cause ear infection, sinus infection, pneumonia, blood infection (bacteremia), and meningitis (infection of the covering of the brain). About 1 out of every 20 people who get pneumococcal pneumonia dies from it, as do about 2 out of every 10 who get bacteremia, and 3 out of 10 who get meningitis. Pneumococcal disease kills more people in the
What is pneumococcal disease?
Pneumococcal disease is a severe bacterial infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, also called pneumococcus. It may cause pneumonia, meningitis or a blood stream infection (bacteremia).
Who gets pneumococcal disease?
Although anyone can get pneumococcal disease, it occurs more frequently in infants, young children, African Americans, some Native American populations, the elderly or in people with serious underlying medical conditions such as chronic lung, heart or kidney disease. Others at risk include alcoholics, diabetics, people with weakened immune systems and those without a spleen.
How is the disease transmitted?
The pneumococcus is spread by airborne or direct exposure to respiratory droplets from a person who is infected or carrying the bacteria?
When does pneumococcal disease occur?
Infections occur most often during the winter and early spring when respiratory illnesses are more common.
How soon after exposure do symptoms occur?
The incubation period may vary but it is generally one to three days.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms generally include an abrupt onset of fever and shaking or chills. Other common symptoms may include headache, cough, chest pain, disorientation, shortness of breath, weakness and occasionally a stiff neck.
How is pneumococcal disease diagnosed?
Doctors are able to diagnose pneumococcal disease based on the type of symptoms exhibited by the patient and specific laboratory cultures of sputum, blood or spinal fluid.
How is it treated?
Prompt treatment with antibiotics, such as penicillin or cephalosporin, is usually effective. However, penicillin-resistant strains of pneumococcus are increasingly being reported throughout the
Is there a vaccine to prevent infection?
Yes. There are two types of vaccines currently in use, one of which is approved for children less than two years of age. Both vaccines are safe and reduce disease occurrence. Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine is recommended for all children less than 24 months old and for children between 24 and 59 months old who are at high risk of disease. Older children and adults with risk factors may receive the pneumococcal polysaccaride vaccine. Patients in high-risk categories should ask their health care provider or local health department about pneumococcal vaccine.
